KARACHI (Dunya News) — The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) closed its first trading session of the day in positive territory on Friday, with the KSE-100 index edging up 125 points to 187,813.
The market started strong, jumping over 500 points in early trades to reach 188,264, before some investors cashed in on gains. Out of 563 companies traded, 241 saw their shares rise while 214 fell. Around 390 million shares changed hands, valued at Rs24 billion.
On the previous trading day, the index had ended higher by 654 points at 187,688. Meanwhile, the Pakistani rupee held steady against the US dollar in the interbank market at Rs279.87.
The market showed resilience as investors warmed up to the week, keeping optimism alive despite profit-taking.
