Stocks rally as investor confidence returns to Pakistan market

Summary Pakistan Stock Exchange closed higher with a gain of 1,673 points as investor confidence improved, while regional markets also showed positive trends amid easing Middle East tensions.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan Stock Exchange witnessed a positive trend on Friday, with strong investor confidence driving a sharp rise in the benchmark index.

At the start of the final trading day of the week, the market opened on a bullish note, gaining more than 2,000 points and pushing the KSE-100 index to an intraday high of 167,844 points.

However, by the close of trading, the index settled at 167,191 points, still registering a significant gain of 1,673 points compared to the previous session.

During the day, a total of 370 million shares were traded, with an overall market value of approximately Rs22 billion, reflecting active participation from investors.

It is worth noting that in the previous trading session, the index had closed at 165,517 points after losing 293 points.

Meanwhile, improved conditions in the Middle East also contributed to positive momentum in regional markets. According to reports, Japan’s Nikkei index rose by 2 per cent, while Thailand’s SET index gained 1 per cent. Stock markets in China and Hong Kong also recorded gains of around 1 per cent.
