Pakistan cuts light diesel and jet fuel prices amid global oil slide
Updated on

Summary Pakistan has reduced prices of light diesel and jet fuel following a decline in global petroleum markets, with revised rates announced nationwide.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan has witnessed a fresh reduction in petroleum product prices as the impact of falling global oil rates continues to filter through the domestic market.

The latest revision brings notable relief in both light diesel oil and aviation fuel, reflecting ongoing adjustments in international crude trends. Officials confirmed that the updated prices are being implemented across the country, marking another step in a series of recent fuel rate changes.

Light diesel oil has recorded a substantial reduction of Rs70.04 per litre. With the latest revision, the price has moved from Rs399.72 per litre down to Rs299.32 per litre, according to the updated notification. The sharp decrease positions light diesel at a significantly lower level compared to previous rates, aligning with the broader downward trend observed in petroleum pricing.

Aviation fuel, commonly used in the airline sector, has also been made cheaper by Rs23.59 per litre. The new price has been revised from Rs494.71 per litre to Rs471.01 per litre. This adjustment follows the broader movement in global oil benchmarks, which have eased pressure on imported energy costs.

Prior to the latest announcement, diesel prices had already seen a reduction of Rs32.12 per litre. Under that earlier revision, the rate fell from Rs385.54 per litre to Rs353.43 per litre.
