Summary Fauji Fertilizer joins the PIA consortium as a shareholder, strengthening the investor group aiming to acquire and manage Pakistan International Airlines under a unified structure.
LAHORE (Web Desk) – Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited has been inducted as a shareholder in the consortium formed to acquire Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), marking a key development in the airline’s privatisation process.
According to a statement issued by the Arif Habib Corporation Limited-led consortium, PIA Equity Limited has formally included Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited among its shareholders. Following this development, PIA Equity Limited will hold 100 per cent ownership of the national carrier.
The updated shareholding structure of PIA Equity Limited comprises Arif Habib Corporation Limited, Fatima Fertilizer Company Limited, Lake City Holdings, AKD Group, The City School Group, and Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited.
PIA Equity Limited will serve as the central platform for the acquisition and future management of PIA Corporation Limited, bringing together multiple institutional investors under a unified structure.
The statement added that the consortium is continuing close coordination with the Privatization Commission of Pakistan to successfully complete the transaction, which is seen as a crucial step towards restructuring and reviving the national airline.
