Rupee strengthens slightly as dollar dips in interbank market

Summary The rupee gained marginally against the dollar in interbank trading, appreciating by three paisas to close at Rs278.67 amid slight easing in market pressure.

LAHORE (Dunya News) The Pakistani rupee posted a gain against the US dollar in the interbank market on Monday, reflecting slight easing in currency pressure at the start of the business week.

According to market data, the dollar slipped by three paisas, closing at Rs278.67 compared to Rs278.70 at the end of the previous trading session.

Currency dealers attributed the marginal improvement to a relative balance in demand and supply of the greenback, though they cautioned that the overall outlook remains sensitive to external economic pressures and global market trends.

Despite the modest gain, analysts noted that sustained stability in the rupee would depend on stronger foreign exchange inflows, export growth, and continued policy discipline.
