ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Rana Tanveer Hussain said the country has sufficient wheat reserves and dismissed reports of a wheat shortage as baseless.
The remarks came during the 12th meeting of the National Wheat Oversight Committee held in the federal capital under the chairmanship of the federal minister.

Rana Tanveer said all necessary measures were being taken to ensure uninterrupted wheat supply across the country, adding that close coordination was being maintained between the federal and provincial governments regarding wheat transportation and distribution.
He directed relevant authorities to strictly monitor the wheat procurement and stock reporting system to ensure transparency and efficiency.

Rana Tanveer further stated that the available wheat reserves were sufficient to meet national requirements and reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring food security and stabilising prices of essential commodities.
He added that the wheat procurement and distribution system would be made more transparent and effective, while the government would continue pursuing balanced policies to protect farmers’ interests and provide relief to consumers.
