(Dunya News) - Pakistan and China have made further progress towards expanding bilateral trade, investment and business cooperation, with a forum in Guangzhou highlighting new opportunities for economic partnerships.

The fifth Pakistan Investment and Business Environment Exchange Forum 2026 brought together stakeholders from both countries to discuss opportunities for increasing bilateral trade, attracting investment and strengthening economic ties.

The event featured policy discussions, investment project presentations, industrial agreements, business-to-business meetings and product displays.

Five memorandums of understanding (MoUs) were signed in areas including electric vehicles, battery manufacturing, construction materials, furniture, pine nuts, and medical and business tourism.

The forum also marked 75 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, with participants reaffirming their commitment to further strengthening economic cooperation.

Opportunities for expanding industrial and infrastructure collaboration under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) were also highlighted during the event.

Investment opportunities were presented in several sectors, including energy, e-commerce, construction materials, furniture and food processing.

The growing trade links, fresh investment initiatives and new business partnerships between Pakistan and China are expected to further broaden economic cooperation between the two countries.
