Summary PSX extended losses for a second day as the KSE-100 index fell 993.91 points to 172,642.16 amid selling pressure linked to rising US-Iran tensions.

KARACHI (Duya News) – Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) extended losses for second consecutive day of the business week amid selling pressure triggered by escalating tensions between the US and Iran.

The KSE-100 index plunged by 993.91 points to drop to 172,642.16 points, reflecting a negative change of 0.57% compared to previous close of 173,636.07 points.

 

During intraday trading, the KSE-100 index touched an intraday high of 173,736.19 points and fell to a low of 171,490.63 points.

Meanwhile, the Pakistani rupee remained stable against the US dollar in interbank trading. The US currency was being traded at Rs277.40.

The latest market movement reflects continued weakness in equities, while the exchange rate remained steady during interbank trading.
