The increase pushed the index to around the 170,000-point level, marking a recovery from the previous day's decline.

Trading at the stock exchange had ended on a weaker note on Tuesday after selling pressure emerged during the session. The KSE-100 Index ultimately closed 825 points lower at 169,600 points.

The latest rise at the start of Wednesday's session indicates a positive opening following the previous day's losses.
