MULTAN (Dunya News) – Pakistan women on Wednesday defeated South Africa by 13 runs in the second T20I match at Multan Cricket Stadium.

Pakistan bowling lineup managed to restrict the visitors to 168 in 20-over match as they was chasing the target of 182 runs.

Sune Luus’s unbeaten fifty went in vain as her side could not achieve the challenging target. Opener Laura Wolvaardt made 36 runs while Anneke Bosch scored 24.

For Pakistan, Nashra Sandhu and Sadia Iqbal claimed two wickets each.

Earlier, an impressive batting by Muneeba Ali and skipper Fatima Sana helped Pakistan set a challenging target of 182 runs for South Africa.

Muneeba scored 45 off 34 while Sidra Amin made 28 and Nida Dar was dismissed for 29. Fatima Sana played a thrilling innings of 37 off 23 balls to boost the total. Aliya Riaz made 17 off 7 to build a tough target for the visitors.

Earlier, South Africa won the toss and decided to field first against visitors.

On Monday, South Africa beat hosts by 10 runs in the first game of the three-match series in Multan.

Chasing 133 to win, Pakistan struggled from the outset, losing half of their side in the 13th over with 47 runs on the board. At that time, captain Fatima Sana joined Aliya Riaz and the pair knitted an unbroken 75-run partnership for the sixth wicket, but fell 10 runs short of the target.

Right-handed batter Fatima, scored an unbeaten 37 off 24 balls, which included five fours. Aliya, brought up her second T20I half-century and returned undefeated on 52 off 39 balls, smashing five fours and a six.

For South Africa, Marizanne Kapp and Tumi Sekhukhune had taken two wickets each.
