MULTAN (Web Desk) - Pakistan's opening batsman Abdullah Shafique has stated that the team would make every effort to win the Test series against England.

Speaking to the media after the first day's play, he asserted that they got off to a strong start due to impressive batting in the first Test of the series.

Shafique noted that the batting unit performed well on the first day.


He emphasised that Captain Shan Masood's performance boosted the entire team. He mentioned that he drew inspiration from Masood's play, which helped him secure his century.

Regarding the conditions, Shafique observed that spinners might benefit from the pitch, and he acknowledged the impact of the hot weather on the game.

He stressed the need for athletes to be mentally strong to face such challenges.

At the end of the first day, Pakistan scored 328 runs for the loss of four wickets, courtesy centuries from both Shan Masood and Abdullah Shafique.
