KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan batsman Babar Azam on Friday added another feather to his cap as he equalled a record for fastest 6,000 runs in One-Day Internationals (ODIs).

The former skipper achieved the milestone while playing against New Zealand in final match of the tri-nation ODI series at National Stadium, Karachi.

He completed the 6,000 runs in 123 innings, equalling the record set by South African batter Hashim Amla 10 years ago. He also surpassed the record of India batter Virat Kohli who took 136 innings to rach the feat.

Babar Azam has also become the fastest Asian to bag the feat while he is the 11th Pakistani player to hit the milestone.

From Pakistan, Saeed Anwar took 162 innings to complete 6,000 ODI runs, Mohammad Yousuf 168, Javed Miandad 175, Inzamam-ul-Haq 176, Mohammad Hafeez 196, Younis Khan, Shoaib Malik 205, Ijaz Ahmed 210, and Saleem Malik 212 while Shahid Afridi accomplished this feat in 276 innings.
