MUMBAI (Dunya News) - England clinched a dramatic four-run victory over Nepal in the fifth group match of the ICC T20 World Cup, surviving a late scare in a high-octane contest at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday.

Chasing a challenging target of 185 runs, Nepal put up a spirited fight but fell just short, finishing on 180 runs.

Dipendra Singh Airee top-scored for Nepal with a brisk 44, while captain Rohit Paudel contributed 39 runs.

Kushal Bhurtel added 29, and Lokesh Bam remained unbeaten on 39, but Nepal could not cross the line in the final over.

Asif Sheikh managed just seven runs.

England’s bowlers held their nerve under pressure, with Liam Dawson picking up two wickets, while Luke Wood, Jofra Archer, Will Jacks, and Sam Curran claimed one wicket each.

Earlier, after winning the toss, England elected to bat first and posted 184 for seven in their allotted 20 overs.

Jacob Bethell led the charge with an impressive 55, while skipper Harry Brook anchored the innings with 53 runs.

For Nepal, Dipendra Singh Airee and Nandan Yadav picked up two wickets each, while Sher Malla and Sandeep Lamichhane took one wicket apiece.
