(Web Desk) - Sania Ashfaq, ex-wife of Pakistani all-rounder Imad Wasim, has shared screenshots of alleged threatening WhatsApp messages sent by the cricketer.
Over the past few days, Sania Ashfaq posted multiple messages on Instagram in which she accused the 37-year-old cricketer of infidelity, neglecting his children, and forcing her to undergo an abortion. She called these threatening messages as serious and distressing for her.
According to the screenshots, which she claims are from July 2025, Imad Wasim allegedly warned her against contacting him or his family, stating that he would pursue legal action if she failed to comply.
The screenshots further suggest that at the time, Sania Ashfaq was pregnant and had requested that Imad be present at the birth of their child. However, he allegedly responded firmly and warned of filing a police complaint if certain conditions were not met.
A day earlier, Sania also shared a video message accusing the cricketer of forcing her to terminate a pregnancy in December 2023, going as far as to call him a “killer.” She claimed to possess evidence to support her allegations.
She has also called on Islamabad United to take action in line with its rules and values. Additionally, she appealed to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi to take notice of the matter and initiate an investigation.
It is worth noting that Imad Wasim and Sania Ashfaq were married in 2019 and divorced in December 2025. The cricketer, who has represented Pakistan in 55 One Day Internationals and 75 T20 Internationals, previously described the end of his first marriage as one of the most difficult chapters of his life.
He had stated that although the marriage did not succeed, it gave him the greatest blessings of his life — his children — whom he loves beyond words.
