KARACHI (Dunya News) - A suspected robber was killed and his accomplice injured in firing by a citizen during a robbery attempt in Gulistan-e-Johar, Dunya News reported here on Wednesday.

The injured suspect managed to escape. Police were searching for him. The alleged robbers tried to stop a car with the purpose of plundering valuables from the car driver, who opened fire on them.

As a result, a suspected robber was killed instantly whereas his accomplice sustained bullet injuries, but ran away from the scene. Further investigation continued.

ROBBERS ARRESTED AFTER ‘ENCOUNTER’

A suspected bandit was injured and arrested and his accomplice fled during ‘encounter’ with police in Landhi police jurisdiction.

The arrested suspect was identified as Amir. Police have recovered a mobile phone, cash, a weapon and a bike from the suspects.

According to police, the accused was a history-sheeter. Raids were conducted for the arrest of the fugitive. The injured robber was admitted to hospital.

A 53-old-man, who was injured by robbers during robbery eight days ago, succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

Deceased Abdul Haleem of IJT was injured by robbers in Gulshan Iqbal on September 13.

TWO OUTLAWS HELD

Police arrested two members of a gang involved in Karachi street crimes. Stolen bikes, weapons and other valuables were recovered from them.

According to police, the criminals committed dozens of robberies. Police have registered a case against the outlaws.
