PPP, PML-(N), PTI’s forward bloc have accelerated consultations for the allotment of ministries
MUZAFFARABAD (Dunya News) -The newly formed government of Azad Kashmir could not agree on the formation of cabinet. The process has been halted until the election of the assembly speaker.
The Peoples Party has called an important consultation session regarding the cabinet with Tehreek-e-Insaf’s forward bloc and other allied groups. So far, only the People's Party's Faisal Rathore and Muslim League's (N) Waqar Noor remained successful to become part of the cabinet. The PDM government is facing a discord over the allocation of ministries to cabinet members.
The People's Party and the Muslim League (N) along with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s forward bloc have accelerated consultations regarding the awards of important ministries. Seven out of 31 PTI members have decided to sit in opposition, and Khawaja Farooq Ahmed has been nominated as opposition leader by Imran Khan.
The People's Party, the Muslim League (N), and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s forward bloc had jointly elected the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir, and Chaudhry Latif Akbar of the People's Party was to be nominated as a consensus candidate for the speaker's seat. However, Chaudhry Makhdoom Gauhar of the PTI have also submitted his nomination papers for the contest.
It is evident that after removal of Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has been divided in various factions in Azad Kashmir.
