Says participating in conference akin to endorsing cruelty
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Mashal Malik, wife of Kashmiri leader Yasin Malik, on Saturday announced staging a rally in the federal capital against the G20 conference convened by India in occupied Kashmir.
Addressing a presser, she said Kashmiri leaders were detained, adding that Kashmiri people were reeling under cruelty. “India wants to establish control in occupied Kashmir,” she added.
She went on to say that on one hand, India cheered on its actions in occupied Kashmir in 2019, while on the other, it was convening G20 conference in the same region. “I have urged all international leaders participating in the conference to boycott the conference,” she added.
Ms Malik said it would be akin to endorsing the cruelty in Kashmir if they participated in the meeting.
India calls conference to hide atrocities: Kaira
Prime Minister's advisor on Kashmir affairs and Gilgit Baltistan Qamar Zaman Kaira said India wanted to hold the G20 session to hide its cruelties in the occupied Kashmir.
He mentioned that the oppression of India on Kashmiris was increasing with every passing day, adding PM Shehbaz Sharif and FM Bilawal Bhutto Zardari raised the issue of Kashmir at every forum.
Mr Kaira stressed that the incumbent government would not shy away from raising the Kashmir issue at all forums mentioning Imran Khan did not raise the desired voice for the oppressed people of the Indian occupied valley.
He claimed that due to the effective foreign policy, G20 members were voicing concerns over the session’s location highlighting India and Turkey would not participate in the session.
