LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers arrested during the protests in Lahore on October 5 have been discharged from the case.

A judicial magistrate discharged 17 individuals, including Musarrat Jamshed Cheema and Rai Muhammad Ali, from the case.

In a written order, the court noted that the police had requested a 10-day physical remand to recover sticks and conduct investigations.

However, there was no medical report accompanying the remand request, and the investigative officer failed to obtain CCTV footage.

The written order rejecting the request for physical remand stated that the allegations made by the police appeared to be unfounded.

It further ordered the immediate release of all discharged individuals unless they were wanted in other cases.
