KARACHI (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan leader Mustafa Kamal criticised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for its planned protest at D-Chowk during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, stating that it is not in the national interest.

He emphasised that the country's sovereignty should be prioritised above political interests.

During a press conference in Karachi, he acknowledged the economic challenges, including inflation and unemployment, while highlighting recent macroeconomic stability and international investment projects.

Kamal stressed that the upcoming summit in Islamabad would place Pakistan in the global spotlight, attracting potential investments and bolstering economic growth.

He argued that while protests are a democratic right, the PTI's actions threaten national stability during such a crucial event.

Kamal added that the security of the Red Zone must be maintained, stating, "Without a stable country, our politics and democracy cannot thrive."

He criticized PTI's approach as detrimental to Pakistan's long-term interests.
