Polling begins for local body by-elections in KP's 17 districts

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - Polling commenced on Sunday for local body by-elections in 17 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the Election Commission, local body by-elections are taking place in Peshawar, Nowshera, Charsadda, Swabi, Kohat, Karak, Lakki Marwat, Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, Abbottabad, Manshera, Kolai Pallas, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Lower Dir, and Bajaur. The polling process began at 8 AM and will continue until 5 PM.
Officials reported that the number of registered voters was 345,604 and 260 polling stations have been established across the province for these by-elections. Security cameras have been installed at highly sensitive polling stations.
The Election Commission has deployed over 6,500 personnel for the by-elections throughout the province, with more than 800 officials handling security duties in Peshawar alone.
