ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Senator Irfan Siddiqui, spokesperson for the government’s negotiation committee, has stated that the committee will be dissolved if talks with the opposition are not resumed by Jan 31.
Speaking to the media outside Parliament House, Siddiqui expressed disappointment over PTI’s decision to end the negotiation process, despite waiting 45 minutes for them in the speaker’s room.
He mentioned three negotiation session had been held since the committee’s formation on Dec 5.
Siddiqui emphasised that the government committee would remain active until January 31, but no further outreach would be made.
He criticised the PTI for damaging democratic traditions and closing the door on dialogue.
