LAHORE (Dunya News) – Former Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has been granted significant relief by an accountability court in Lahore.
In the corruption and kickbacks reference related to Gujrat development projects, the court granted him a permanent exemption from personal appearance due to medical reasons. Instead, Anwar Hussain has been appointed as his pleader for court proceedings.
During the hearing, Parvez Elahi’s pleader appeared, while former principal secretary Muhammad Khan Bhatti was absent.
The court has put the case on hold due to the pending appearances of other accused individuals.
