LAHORE (Dunya News) – Ramazan, a month of fasting, began on Saturday, with devotees who offered Traveeh prayers, and had a Sehar meal, a food, which is taken before Fajr Azan.

Mosques remained jam-packed at Isha time. People first offered their Isha prayers then Traveehs. There was hustle and bustle everywhere. People seemed excited and in high spiritual spirit. There was a great rush of motorists on roads, blocking roads. At Sehar, people thronged shops for buying milk, yogurt, and readymade foods.

The month of fasting commenced with the sighting of the Ramazan moon. , and the first Taraveeh prayers were held after the Isha prayer on the night of March 1, 2025.

In various cities across the country, the moon was observed with great reverence, marking the start of this sacred month. For the faithful, the first Taraveeh prayers provided a moment of spiritual reflection, marking the beginning of their Ramazan observances.

Meanwhile, in Saudi Arabia, other Gulf countries, Europe, and the United States, Muslims began their fasting on March 1.

Countries like India, Sri Lanka, and Japan observed their first fast on March 2, joining the global Muslim community in observing this blessed month.

As millions of Muslims around the world begin Ramazan, it marks a time for heightened spirituality, reflection, and community, uniting believers in prayers and devotion.
