ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has reached Islamabad to attend a meeting of High-Powered Selection Board on Wednesday (today).

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will chair the meeting. PPP stalwart Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari will participate as member of the board.

The PM and members of the board will review promotion of grade 21 officers to grade 22.

Before departing for capital, Senator Sherry Rehman met Bilawal and Aseefa Bhutto in Karachi.

In the meeting, they discussed the country's political situation and legislation in the Senate.

In January, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif and Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari had been appointed members of the High-Powered Selection Board.

This marks the first time that political figures have been appointed to the Board, which typically consists of the prime minister, cabinet secretary, secretary establishment, provincial secretary and the secretary of the relevant ministry.

The selection board makes decisions regarding appointments and promotions for grade 21 and 22 officers.
