Tarar declares Imran Khan a threat to national security

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Friday declared the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder a threat to Pakistan’s security and integrity.

While talking to a private news channel, Attaullah Tarar said that the PTI founder and his party wanted to push the country toward default, for which letters were even written to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

He said that on May 9, PTI carried attacks out on military installations -- things even enemies do not do. He said that the PTI founder is a threat to Pakistan’s security. The minister said that the PTI founder sees no political future for himself, therefore he is creating anti-state narrative.

Attaullah Tarar said that PTI members of the National Assembly believe that the PTI founder has trapped them. They say that PTI founder is an extremist who calls Osama bin Laden a martyr.

Attaullah Tarar said that the PTI founder holds a Taliban-like mindset and considers terrorists his friends. “This extremist person is consumed by war hysteria. How long will people in his own party tolerate him?” he asked.

He further said that the government has a serious option of imposing Governor’s Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and added that even the PTI members are not standing with his (Imran Khan’s narrative.
