ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) has introduced important new measures to make citizens’ family records more secure and reliable.

Under the new rules, Nadra has made it mandatory to include photographs of children aged between three and ten years on the B-Form. In addition, fingerprints of children aged 10 to 18 years will also be collected to further strengthen identity verification.

According to Nadra, children under the age of three will not be required to have their photographs on the B-Form.

The authority said these steps are aimed at closing loopholes and preventing the illegal inclusion of unrelated individuals in family records.

Nadra has also made it compulsory to register a child’s birth with the relevant union council within one month. Officials said this early registration will help keep records up to date and ensure that family trees remain accurate from the very beginning.

“These measures are meant to nip problems in the bud and keep family records clean and trustworthy,” a Nadra official said.

The authority added that the new system will help strengthen national data security and make identity verification more effective in the long run.
