LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Lahore High Court (LHC) has granted time to the Punjab government to submit its response regarding the decision to allow kite flying.
Justice Awais of the LHC heard a petition filed by the Judicial Activism Panel and directed the Punjab government, the Inspector General of Punjab, and other respondents to submit their replies by December 22.
The Punjab government and other parties have been named as respondents in the petition, which challenges the Kite Flying Act 2025.
The petitioner argued that the Punjab government promulgated the ordinance without approval from the provincial assembly and pointed out that kite flying had caused numerous fatalities in the past. It was further contended that allowing kite flying again could lead to renewed loss of life.
