ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The concerned authorities in Islamabad and Rawalpindi also conducted survey of high-rising buildings after Karachi’s Gul Plaza tragedy for ensuring fire safety measures, Dunya News reported on Thursday.

The administration in Islamabad and Rawalpindi conducted a survey of fire safety arrangements in buildings and found that most buildings lack adequate measures to deal with fires. In several important buildings, fire safety systems were found to be non-functional.

In dozens of commercial plazas and private buildings, fire protection equipment were missing. Notices have been issued to the owners of buildings that fail to meet fire safety standards.

Strict implementation of building safety regulations is need of the hour to protect valuable human lives and property.
