Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari announced free iftar arrangements for 2,000 needy people per tehsil, alongside Ramadan relief initiatives including bazaars and cash transfers.
LAHORE (Dunya News) — Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari announced that free iftar arrangements will be organized for 2,000 deserving individuals in every tehsil across the province.
Speaking to the media in Lahore, she said the initiative is supported by Maryam Nawaz, who is providing iftar meals. Bukhari praised the management for ensuring quality and smooth arrangements.
She added that the Ramadan Savings Festival is benefiting millions, with 36 bazaars operating across 25 districts. Cash transfers continue via the Nigehban Ramadan card, and allowances for laborers have been increased from 3,000 to 10,000 rupees for the holy month.
On the Pakistan-India cricket match, Bukhari expressed hope that players would perform diligently, emphasizing that winning or losing is part of the game. She also highlighted the cultural significance of Basant in improving the national environment.
