Punjab Home Department issues updated list of banned outfits under Anti-Terrorism Act, warns citizens not to donate to unregistered charities and urges verification via Charity Commission.
LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Punjab Home Department has released an updated list of banned organizations and unregistered charitable entities, warning citizens that providing any form of assistance to proscribed groups is a criminal offense under the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.
Officials urged the public to refrain from giving zakat, charity, or donations to unregistered or banned organizations. The department emphasized that individuals found supporting groups involved in terrorism or anti-state activities would face strict legal action.
Authorities clarified that all charitable organizations operating in Punjab must be registered with the Punjab Charity Commission.
Citizens have been advised to donate only to entities registered with the commission and to verify credentials through QR codes displayed on official registration certificates.
Punjab Home Department announces major transfers
The list includes several proscribed organizations such as Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, Al-Qaeda, Balochistan Liberation Army, Islamic State, Jamaat-ud-Dawa, and Falah-e-Insaniat Foundation, among others.
The department stated that the complete list of banned outfits is also available on the official websites of the Punjab Home Department and the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA).
Citizens have been encouraged to report any fraudulent, terrorist, or anti-state activities to relevant authorities to ensure that charitable contributions reach genuine and deserving recipients rather than extremist elements.
