The annual exams for Lahore's govt schools will begin on March 9, 2026, with two shifts. Subjects include English, General Knowledge, Islamic Studies, Mathematics, and special exams for Quran and SBA
LAHORE (Dunya News) – The annual examination schedule for government schools in Lahore has been announced, with exams set to begin on March 9, 2026.
The exams will be conducted in two shifts, with the morning shift running from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and the afternoon shift from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. On Fridays, however, the afternoon shift will take place from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
The first exam on March 9 will be for English for students in 1st grade, while General Knowledge will be the first paper for 2nd-grade students. The 3rd grade will start with Islamic Studies/Ethics, and 4th-grade students will have Mathematics as their first subject.
For 5th-grade students, the first exam will be in Islamic Studies/Ethics. 6th-grade students will begin with Mathematics, while the 7th-grade first exam will cover Computer Science and Arabic. The 8th-grade students will start with Mathematics.
In addition to these subjects, exams for Quran Recitation, Quran Translation, and Tajweed Rules will also be included in the schedule.
Special exams for Reading, Listening, and Speaking will be conducted as well. For 8th-grade students, exams under the School-Based Assessment (SBA) system will be held for Mathematics, Urdu, English, and Science at their respective exam centers.
The Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) have been instructed to ensure full compliance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the End-of-Year SBA 2026.
