Azma Bokhari slams KP govt over delay in distribution of Ramazan package

Punjab Minister Azma Bukhari criticized KPK for not distributing its Ramadan aid package. She highlighted Punjab’s progress in reaching 3 million people and accused PTI of prioritizing party workers.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari on Thursday criticized the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) government for failing to initiate the distribution of its Ramazan aid package, despite half of the holy month passing.
Bokhari emphasized that the Punjab government has already transferred financial assistance to three million people under the Ramadan Nigahban Program, and aims to reach 4 million in the coming days.
She highlighted the efforts of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s iftar initiatives, providing meals to thousands of people across Punjab daily.
Bokhari also pointed out that the KP government has not yet begun distributing its Ramadan aid package and has only requested lists from National and Provincial Assembly members.
She accused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government in KP of planning to distribute Rs10 billion among party workers instead of the needy under the guise of the Ramadan package.
The minister added that officials like Muzamil Aslam and Sohail Afridi are unaware of the status of the aid distribution, suggesting a lack of coordination in KP.
She expressed concern that the KP government is focusing solely on a prisoner in Adiala Jail while neglecting the pressing issues faced by the province’s population of 40 million.
