LAHORE (Dunya News) - Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif chaired a special meeting to review ongoing development projects across the province, directing authorities to ensure strict monitoring and timely completion.

During the session, officials presented a detailed overview of projects through a project gallery, offering visual updates from each tehsil. A live dashboard was also used to brief the chief minister on both financial and physical progress.

The chief minister instructed the authorities to submit weekly reports on the Punjab Development Programme. She specifically directed the Local Government Department to provide regular updates on development work in every city. Additionally, she called for weekly progress reports on the “Model Villages” initiative.

Officials informed the meeting that development work is currently underway in 51 cities under the Local Government and Community Development Department. To improve sanitation and drainage systems, the government plans to provide de-silting machines, section machines, jetting machines, and dewatering sets.

Maryam Nawaz also emphasized maintaining cleanliness standards, directing that waste containers and garbage drums be regularly cleaned.

In a major development, the chief minister announced the installation of the province’s first HDPE pipeline manufacturing plant, with work set to begin on April 20. A similar facility will also be established in South Punjab.

She further directed that, following the completion of WASA projects, special focus should be given to improving the overall beauty of cities.
