ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a phone conversation with Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, during which the two discussed the US-Iran ceasefire and Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic efforts, the Foreign Office (FO) said on Friday.
In a post on X, the Foreign Office of Pakistan stated that both sides reviewed regional developments, the ceasefire situation, and Islamabad’s diplomatic engagement in the context of US-Iran relations.

Dar emphasized the need for continued dialogue and engagement to resolve outstanding issues and promote regional peace and stability as quickly as possible.
Meanwhile, Araghchi appreciated Pakistan’s consistent and constructive role in facilitating dialogue between the parties.

The FO added that both leaders agreed to stay in close contact moving forward.
In recent days, a second round of expected negotiations in Islamabad has been postponed due to ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran, particularly over Iran’s closure of the Strait of Hormuz and the US blockade of Iranian ports.
