Summary JI Hafiz Naeem takes a swipe at Punjab government over governance
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has launched a countrywide membership drive and pledges to register five million members, said its emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman here on Saturday.
The JI chief said people have seen that no government did work for their welfare, adding the party has started membership drive across Pakistan, and five million members will be registered.
“Our youth will go door to door and contact people. The rights of farmers are being violated, so they will also contact them. More than three thousand farmers are not getting their money and farmers are being exploited due to middlemen.
“The Punjab government is spending billions of rupees on advertisements while not working on good governance. Thirty-five million children are out of schools,” said the JI chief.
There is a system of oppression, no work has been done in IT field; only laptops are being distributed, sources of electricity generation are not being created in Pakistan, IPPs are receiving money without providing electricity, while basic needs are not being provided to the people, he went on saying.
