ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received a telephone call from New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, during which both leaders discussed regional stability and bilateral relations.

According to reports, the call took place earlier in the day, where the two leaders exchanged views on the overall regional situation in a cordial and friendly atmosphere.

During the conversation, the evolving situation in the Middle East also came under discussion.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif briefed his New Zealand counterpart on Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic efforts and engagements aimed at promoting peace and reducing tensions in the region.

The New Zealand Prime Minister appreciated Pakistan’s constructive diplomatic initiatives, particularly its engagement with Washington and Tehran, and expressed good wishes for the success of these mediation efforts.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked Christopher Luxon and reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to promoting peace, dialogue and stability both regionally and globally.

Both leaders agreed to work together to further strengthen bilateral relations between Pakistan and New Zealand and expressed satisfaction over the friendly ties between the two countries. The positive role of the Pakistani community residing in New Zealand was also appreciated.

At the end of the conversation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif invited Christopher Luxon to undertake an official visit to Pakistan, while both leaders agreed to remain in close contact in the coming days.
