Summary Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry on Tuesday said that elements hatching conspiracies against Pakistan would never succeed in their nefarious designs
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry on Tuesday said that elements hatching conspiracies against Pakistan would never succeed in their nefarious designs.
Responding to a point raised by opposition members in the Senate, the minister said the entire nation stood united against the menace of terrorism. He said the Pakistan Armed Forces and other law enforcement agencies were carrying out intelligence-based operations to eliminate terrorists across the country.
He said incidents of terrorism had significantly declined after strikes on terrorist hideouts along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. However, he said that terrorist elements were now targeting soft targets, including police personnel and civilians.
The minister said the armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and police were courageously countering the cowardly enemy.
He said terrorism was not limited to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces, as such tragic incidents had also occurred in Islamabad and other part of the country.
Referring to a suicide attack at an Imam Bargah in Tarlai, Islamabad, he said more than 40 innocent people had lost their lives in the incident.
