PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - The death toll from the collision between a van and a bus on the Swat Expressway has climbed to 18 as two more injured persons succumbed to their wounds during treatment on Monday night.
A spokesperson for Mardan Medical Complex said that all dead bodies have been handed over to their heirs, while five injured persons are currently under treatment in different wards of the hospital.
The spokesperson further said that the best possible medical facilities are being provided to the injured. The accident occurred earlier today on the Swat Motorway between a bus and a van.
According to the motorway police, the accident occurred due to the negligence and carelessness of the van driver.
The motorway police further said that the speeding van rammed into a bus parked on the roadside from behind. The bus was traveling from Karachi to Buner, while the van was heading from Rawalpindi to Dir.
