Summary Rana Sanaullah says government is trying to provide maximum public relief in budget, while stressing unity against terrorism and support for the Palestinian people.
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah has said the government is making every possible effort to provide relief to the common man in the upcoming budget, adding that a larger relief package could have been announced had the country not faced a war-like situation.
Speaking to the media, Rana Sanaullah said the entire world is currently facing economic difficulties, but the present government succeeded in saving Pakistan from default. He stated that the government is continuously taking measures to provide relief to the public, while the economic team remains engaged in negotiations on various matters.
He said that if the prevailing security and war-related situation had not existed, the prime minister would have introduced a major relief package. However, he added that efforts for public relief are still ongoing and the government is trying to ensure maximum facilities for ordinary citizens in the budget.
Rana Sanaullah further stated that terrorists entering from Afghanistan were involved in carrying out attacks in Pakistan and that cross-border movement was one of the major reasons behind recent terrorism incidents.
He urged Afghanistan not to become a tool of India and to secure its borders, saying terrorism could be eliminated if border security was effectively ensured.
The special assistant also stressed that the entire nation must unite against terrorism, adding that Pakistani armed forces are bravely and professionally combating terrorist elements. He expressed hope that terrorism would soon be eliminated and Pakistan would become a peaceful country again.
On foreign affairs, Rana Sanaullah said Pakistan stands with the Palestinian people and added that if any agreement recognizes Palestine and is accepted by Palestinian leadership, Pakistan would also support such an arrangement.
