Summary Punjab Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb announced cash rewards for sanitation workers and praised Eid cleanliness operations across Punjab.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Punjab Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb announced that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved a cash reward of Rs10,000 each for Suthra Punjab sanitation workers.

Speaking at a press conference in Lahore alongside Local Government Minister Zeeshan Rafique, Aurangzeb said more than 41,000 citizens contacted the official helpline during Eidul Adha.

She said Suthra Punjab teams remained active in the field despite extreme weather conditions and played a key role in maintaining cleanliness across the province.

Aurangzeb praised the performance of government departments involved in the grand cleanliness operation, congratulating the people of Punjab and Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on what she described as successful arrangements.

She said citizens had appreciated the cleanliness measures and that the Suthra Punjab programme became a top trend on social media across Pakistan. Monitoring and sanitation arrangements at cattle markets were also ensured, she added.

The senior minister said Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz remained committed to public service and personally monitored the operation throughout the Eid holidays.

Aurangzeb stated that all provincial institutions and district administrations worked together to make the operation successful, adding that the efforts of sanitation workers were critical to achieving the results.

She said provinces should learn from each other's successful initiatives, emphasizing that the government's primary objective is to provide better services to the public.

Commenting on the chief minister's health, Aurangzeb said Maryam Nawaz's surgery had been successful and was performed at Sharif Medical City. She added that the chief minister would not be travelling abroad for treatment.
