ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that the role of the Federal Constabulary in maintaining peace and combating terrorism across the country is highly significant.
During a detailed visit to the Federal Constabulary Training Centre Shabqadar, the interior minister reviewed the operational readiness and professional training standards of the force.
He inspected training activities of the Special Protection Wing and Anti-Riot Wing, particularly for state guests arriving from abroad, and appreciated the quality of modern training being provided to personnel.
On the occasion, Mohsin Naqvi said the Special Protection Wing is being developed into a modern and organized force on the lines of advanced countries. He added that providing international-standard security to foreign guests will be the core responsibility of the wing, and special focus is being given to its training.
He further stated that arrangements have been made for personnel to receive training from foreign instructors and also to be sent abroad for advanced training. Along with improving educational qualifications, personnel are also being taught international languages.
The interior minister said the Federal Constabulary is being transformed into a more effective force to deal with future security challenges. He directed officials to focus on physical fitness, modern weapons training, and driving skills.
He also instructed the purchase of modern anti-riot equipment, provision of necessary facilities in barracks, and the initiation of construction of a gym and swimming pool at the training centre.
