GILGIT (Dunya News) - The Chief Election Commissioner on Monday announced decisions regarding poll petitions filed in several constituencies across Gilgit-Baltistan, Dunya News reported.
According to sources, the decision to hold re-polling in three constituencies of Diamer has been canceled. Both candidates of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) from Diamer have been declared successful. The re-polling request filed by Haji Gulbar against Malik Kifayat of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was also rejected.
In Nagar-I, a request for a recount against the Pakistan People’s Party candidate was dismissed. Similarly, in Ghizer, the recount request filed by Nazir Ahmad of the Pakistan People’s Party against the PML-N candidate was also rejected.
The victory of an independent candidate from Gilgit-III has been upheld.
