KARACHI (Dunya News) – The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Sunday officially announced its candidates for the 2026 elections to the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly, fielding nominees in 35 constituencies across the region.

According to the party's list, candidates have been nominated for constituencies in Mirpur, Bhimber, Kotli, Bagh, Sudhnoti, Poonch, Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Jammu refugee seats and Valley refugee constituencies.

In the Mirpur Division, the PPP awarded tickets to Afsar Shahid (LA-1 Mirpur-I), Qasim Majeed (LA-2 Mirpur-II/Chakswari), Yasser Sultan (LA-3 Mirpur City), Chaudhry Sohaib Arshad (LA-4 Khari Sharif) and Chaudhry Pervez Ashraf (LA-5 Bhimber-I/Barnala).

For the Kotli Division, Malik Zafar will contest from LA-8, Javed Iqbal Bhadhanvi from LA-9, Chaudhry Yasin from both LA-10 and LA-12, and Chaudhry Akhlaq from LA-11.

The party also named Sardar Qamar Zaman, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, Sardar Amjad Yousaf, Sardar Saud Sadiq, Sardar Yaqoob, Sardar Muhammad Abid Khan and Sardar Faheem Akhtar Rabbani as its candidates for various constituencies in Bagh, Sudhnoti and Poonch.

In Neelum Valley and Muzaffarabad, tickets were awarded to Mian Abdul Waheed, Sardar Javed Ayub, Syed Bazil Naqvi, Sardar Mukhtar Ahmed Khan, Mubashir Munir Awan, Ashfaq Zafar and Dewan Ali Chughtai.

For the Jammu refugee constituencies, the party nominated retired Colonel Qadeer Chauhan, Chaudhry Asif Gujar, Chaudhry Ahsan Ismail Gujar, Shaheen Kausar Dar, Raja Shahid Iqbal Advocate and Chaudhry Fakhar Zaman.

Meanwhile, Amir Abdul Ghaffar Lone, Ghulam Abbas Mir, Javed Butt, Muhammad Rashid Islam Butt and Abdul Majeed Khan were nominated for the Valley refugee seats.

The party leadership directed all candidates to launch a vigorous election campaign and expressed confidence that the PPP would secure victory in the AJK elections with strong public support.
