LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast hot and dry weather in most parts of Pakistan today, while intense humidity is expected to further increase heat levels in the plains.
Rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms is likely in some upper regions and a few districts of Punjab during the evening and night.
According to the Met Office, weather in Islamabad and surrounding areas will remain hot and humid, prompting authorities to advise citizens to avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight.
Most districts of Punjab are also expected to experience hot and dry weather, with humid conditions persisting in the plains. However, rain with gusty winds, dust storms and thunderstorms is likely at isolated places in Sialkot and Narowal during nighttime.
Most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are expected to remain hot and dry, with severe humidity in lowland areas, although upper districts may see partly cloudy skies after noon.
In Sindh, intense heat, dry weather and humidity are likely to persist, while coastal areas may remain partly cloudy.
Most districts of Balochistan will remain hot, with severe heatwave conditions expected in central areas, while southern districts may experience partly cloudy weather.
Meanwhile, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are likely to witness hot and dry weather during the day, with partly cloudy conditions possible during the evening and night.
The Met Office has advised citizens, especially children, elderly people and those with health issues, to take precautionary measures, increase water intake and avoid unnecessary movement under direct sunlight.
