ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Former Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Tanveer Ilyas has resigned from the basic membership of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
According to sources, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas sent his resignation to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. He is reportedly unhappy with the party leadership over what he termed the unfair distribution of tickets in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Sources said that Tanveer Ilyas was not awarded a ticket from the Central Bagh constituency. He had expressed his reservations after being denied tickets from his preferred constituencies.
Consultations between Sardar Tanveer Ilyas and his close associates are ongoing, and he is expected to announce his future political strategy in a press conference soon.
