Summary Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni has arrived in Pakistan for high-level meetings focused on border security, regional stability, counterterrorism cooperation and strengthening bilateral ties.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni arrived in Pakistan on Monday leading a high-level delegation, where he was warmly received by his Pakistani counterpart Mohsin Naqvi.
The official reception reflected the close diplomatic ties between the neighbouring countries. Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry presented a bouquet to the visiting dignitary, while Iran's Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, was also present at the ceremony.
Welcoming his Iranian counterpart in Islamabad, Mohsin Naqvi described Momeni as "a brother" and extended his best wishes on his arrival in Pakistan.
He expressed confidence that the visit would produce positive outcomes and further strengthen the longstanding relationship between the two countries.
Naqvi said the Iranian interior minister's visit would help deepen bilateral relations and open new avenues for cooperation across a range of sectors.
He noted that Pakistan and Iran enjoy brotherly relations and continue to work closely on issues of mutual interest.

During his visit, Momeni is expected to hold meetings with Pakistan's senior leadership to discuss a wide range of bilateral and regional issues.
According to officials, the talks are expected to focus on border security, cooperation against terrorism, bilateral relations and the overall security situation in the region.
