ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday condemned the attack near Mastung in which Sessions Judge Abdul Hakeem Kakar and his gunman were killed amid reaffirming the nation’s resolve to eliminate terrorism in all its forms.
President Zardari expressed deep sorrow over the martyrdom of Sessions Judge Abdul Hakeem Kakar and his security guard, praying for the elevation of their ranks and patience for the bereaved families.
He also prayed for the speedy recovery of injured Judicial Magistrate Tariq Lashari and others wounded in the attack, a Presidency’s news release said.
The president said the sacrifices of the martyrs would not go in vain, adding that hostile elements operating with external backing would never succeed in their malicious designs. He said Pakistan would continue its struggle until terrorism was completely eradicated, and stressed that terrorists and their facilitators could not weaken the country’s peace or the resolve of its state institutions.
In a separate news release, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also condemned the attack and expressed grief over the deaths of Sessions Judge Abdul Hakeem Kakar and his gunman. He offered condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the early recovery of Judicial Magistrate Tariq Lashari and other injured persons.
The prime minister said such cowardly acts would not enable terrorists to achieve their objectives and reiterated the government’s determination to eliminate every form of terrorism from the country.
