LAHORE (Dunya News) - Lahore received intermittent heavy rainfall throughout the night, inundating several low-lying areas and disrupting electricity supply in parts of the city after multiple feeders tripped.

The downpour was part of a broader spell of heavy rain across the country. Several areas of Karachi also received rainfall, including Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Saddar, Mahmoodabad and Nazimabad. Light to moderate rain was also reported in Lyari, Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Gadap, Guru Mandir, Jamshed Road, Baldia, Naval Colony and Mowach Goth.

More than 100 K-Electric feeders reportedly tripped following the rainfall, leaving several areas without power.

According to official data, nine people were killed and 54 others injured in rain-related incidents across the country during the past 24 hours.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said 81 people had died and 241 others were injured in rain-related incidents between June 26 and July 23.
