Summary AJK election campaign in Bagh and Haveli will end at midnight before August 10 polling, with strict restrictions on campaign activities.
MUZAFFARABAD (Muhammad Aslam Mir) - The election campaign for the third and final phase of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir general elections 2026 in Bagh and Haveli districts will conclude at midnight between August 8 and 9.
The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Election Commission has directed candidates and political parties to strictly comply with election laws, the code of conduct and instructions issued by the commission, warning that violations will invite legal action.
Chief Election Commissioner Justice (retd) Mustafa Mughal said no candidate, political party or election worker would be allowed to continue campaigning after the deadline. Holding or participating in public meetings, rallies, processions, corner meetings or other election-related gatherings will also be prohibited.
He warned that any election activity after the campaign deadline would constitute a violation of election laws and the code of conduct. Candidates and political parties have also been directed to follow the commission's instructions on polling day to ensure free, fair and peaceful elections.
Polling for three constituencies in Bagh district and one in Haveli district will be held on August 10.

On the final day of campaigning, political parties and candidates intensified voter outreach, corner meetings and public gatherings in a bid to strengthen their positions. A close contest is expected in the constituencies, while the results are considered important for the formation of the next AJK government.
Chief Election Commissioner Mustafa Mughal urged candidates to avoid any activity that could disrupt the electoral process or create law and order concerns, stressing that violations would not be tolerated.
The AJK general elections 2026 are being conducted in multiple phases. Polling for 13 constituencies in Mirpur division was held on July 27, while the second phase covered nine constituencies of Muzaffarabad division and 12 refugee seats on August 2.
The third phase will conclude with polling in four constituencies of Bagh and Haveli on August 10. Polling for two constituencies in Sudhanoti and five in Rawalakot will be held in a subsequent phase, the schedule for which will be announced later.
