(Dunya News) - The body of Pakistani mountaineer Sohel Sakhi, who went missing after an avalanche struck Broad Peak, has been recovered.
Ten mountaineers went missing after the avalanche hit Broad Peak around 15 days ago, with Sohel Sakhi among those reported missing.
Sources said Sakhi’s body was found by porters travelling along the Broad Peak trekking route and was subsequently brought to the base camp.
Sakhi, who belonged to Hunza, will be transported from the base camp to Skardu by helicopter.
The bodies of seven mountaineers, including five Nepali climbers, had been recovered following the accident. The search for the remaining missing climbers is continuing.
